Transitioning from Functional Tester to Automation Tester
Do you have software testing experience between 2 to 4 Years and you are not doing automation in your current role ?

- First of all stop addressing yourself as a manual tester because you have spent so many years and you try to define your self with these 2 words .
- Don’t lower your confidence by comparing with others .In the initial carrier you got a chance to work on functional testing and you continued with that .
- Now as you got good understanding on the application , start identifying where you can bring automation . Spend Time and keep analysing
- DO REALIZE that you have a golden experience in terms of your domain / clients / products / test design / user experience etc.
- Make full use of that when designing your resume and include these experiences in your storytelling while giving interviews.
- In any job role in order to grow our carrier skill development plays a major role , Automation is one more important feather to your existing job role to bring productivity and efficiency in your work
Automation is not everything , it is just another strong pillar to test engineering role . - Now if you feel comfortable and confident in yourself, then start taking small steps that is required to learn automation with coding /DSA / Tools
- Most Important part is go beyond tools , dont stick with any tool .Try to integrate your testing experience with WHY and WHAT of automation. Once you relate the two threads , you will be self-motivated for future journey.
